April's Fools by J. Peter Bergman
|
| For those who follow golden rules
dictating, sanely, softer ways of living,
Beware the trust of April’s fools
romancing, mainly, without ever giving.
There’s very little promised, very little to be had
when April’s fools are driving down the double yellow lines;
Awareness of all forms of love, and what would make you glad
will keep you thriving, keep you safe from April’s furrowed mines.
